Better late than never! I took a spring break vacation, and stitchy progress was limited that week. However, I racked up big numbers early in the month, participating in the March Madness event with Fandom Stitchers. I returned home April 3, and got down to stitchy business. So let’s review.
First, primary WIP Fairy Clouds had 5 days love and 3,413 stitches done. I continued on the upper part of the chart, stitching her bodice and wings, the scarf, her hair and a bit of the arms. With the 7k I did between March and February, she is good position for a spring finish.

Santa’s Gifts received 4 days attention and 3,400 stitches added. I was working towards the left edge along the bottom, filling in the bunnies, stitching the fox, starting the bear, and a whole lot of green gown and a bit of the red coat with the blue lining and white fur trim

Fairy Idyll had 5 days effort and 3,000 stitches. I continued working on the lower right corner, mostly the rabbit, the stone base, and surrounding greenery. I’m almost ready to start working left towards center, along the bottom.

Now for secondary pieces, Ghool School received 2 days love and 2,500 stitches added. I continued on the main school house, the roof, started the stone path, and the broom rack and sign to the left. The left side isn’t as much coverage, so I may be able to finish the left page in April, we’ll see.

Outlander had 2 days and 2,000 stitches done. I worked on the heart band, the wedding rings, the word, and continued on the border. It’s getting close, I may push a little more than 2,000 st and get a finish in April, if time allows.

Deadly Aquarium received 3 days and 2,300 stitches. I finished the first page and continued working right towards center with the cave, the squid, coral, water at the bottom, the black and brown base, and some sea snails. It was a pretty good start on the second (middle) page, I should be able to finish the page in April (it’s much less coverage), and start the right page with the crocodile.

Tertiary pieces, starting with Mickey Stained Glass. My oldest WIP had 2 days, and 1600 stitches added. It’s very close to finished now, and definitely on deck for an April finish. Just a few colors (black and black-brown) to finish that upper right corner border. I quite enjoyed working this full coverage on the diagonal. Well, I did each page on the diagonal, then worked the pages on the diagonal.

St. George and Dragon had 2.5 days, and 1,700 st done. I worked on the dragon’s tail, the horse’s front legs and body, and started the horse’s collar. He’s definitely coming along, will 20k stitches this year be enough to finish? We’ll see.

Last but not least, my smalls…. Regal Diamond had 1.25 days, 1033 stitches, and it’s finished! My 4th ornament of the year, of 12. I wanted to participate in the Semisane Spring Start to finish challenge, so I decided to start Egg with Daffodils, companion chart to the Egg with Tulips I stitched last year. Daffodils had 3.5 days and 387 stitches done, very minimal effort some of the days that I was on vacation.

Question of the month: Which of your current WIPs do you consider your most difficult piece to stitch? St. George would have to be the one, with the 36 count fabric, frequent color changes, copious quarter stitches, and numerous blended colors. He’s certainly a work of art, though, so I will keep plugging away.
Now for my April Goals:
- Focus (3k per): Fairy Clouds, Fairy Idyll, Santa’s Gifts
- Secondary (2k per): Outlander, Ghool School, Deadly Aquarium
- Tertiary: Mickey Stained Glass (finish), St. George & Dragon (1,700), Daffodils (1,500), new start TBD
- Smalls: (600 per): Peace Dove (new start), Cuckoo Clock (maybe)
Happy Stitching
