Dreaming of fall…

It’s over 100 degrees F here and I hate the heat!  So, I’m dreaming of sweater-weather.

I LOVE Norah Gaughan Vol. 3!  Now, I own Knitting Nature and I love looking through it, but so many of her designs are more interesting than wearable, for me.  However, in her new volume, the designs are both, and I absolutely adore Eastlake.

I am dying to make this and will almost certainly cast on in the fall.  Oh yes, she will be mine!  The yarn called for is Inca Gold, a merino/silk blend that Berroco claims is at an “honest price”.  Well, I’m not sure what that means, but I’d like to try the yarn if it’s reasonable.  Either way, the gauge would be easy enough to sub.  It’s funny, I am pretty much a yarn snob and I strongly prefer natural fibres, especially for cool weather knits.  But I’m still fairly cheap and I definitely seek bargains.  I also really like StrawberryHill.

There are some other cool designs, including Calvert and Assemblage.

I can’t wait for Steph to make the Eastlake. The geek in me sees the design as if it were designed and made for the elves of Middle Earth (Tolkien)!
