On Friday the 13th, I visited a new-to-me LYS, The Tangled Skein in Hyattsville, MD.  Actually, it’s not that local, but it was worth the 30-40 minute drive.   The shop had a great selection, and plenty of sweater quantities in a given color/dyelot, which I really appreciate.  I actually used to live in that area, when I was in college. The area has changed somewhat…. it was weird being back there.  I took C on a walk down memory lane, telling him about my life circa 2000-2002.  Funny, we met that summer, of 2002.

Anyway, they were having a big sale and I got 3 skeins of cotton fleece for Rusted Root, as well as the book Lace Style.  I’ve been coveting this book for awhile and I want to make the Showoff Ruffle Skirt.  The skirt is the perfect excuse to buy some Cotlin, which I’ve been wanting to try ever since I saw this version

I’m still plugging away on Wallis.  Here’s one of the fronts.

The first picture shows the pleats at the shoulder, while the second shows the double knit hem pattern.  This color is proving tricky to photograph, it’s somewhere in between these 2.   Wallis-wip3
