WIP: Drawstring Chemise

So, here’s my current wip drawstring chemise, from spring 08 IK.  The back is complete, after adding 1.5″ in length above the bust increases.  Also, I skipped the bindoff on the casing and simply sewed down the live stitches, it should lie flatter this way.  The front is in progress.

I’m using Reynolds Saucy sport, a 100% mercerized cotton with almost exactly the same yardage as rowan cotton glace.  The saucy is pretty, matte, and not at all splitty, so it’s working out well so far.  No problems getting gauge on size 3’s.  I’m working the 33″ size; thinking a few inches of negative ease will be good for this design.  The color is 604, jungle teal, which is a bit intense, but I think it will be ok in the context of this rather breif cami.  I messed up the lace on my first try (confused by the multi size chart).  However, my second try worked like a charm.  I started with a cable cast on.  Here’s a closeup of the lace- I really enjoy working this pattern!  Color is more true in the image above.

The knitting is done on Wallis, but no seaming yet.  I started seaming the Phildar ruched cardigan, my oldest UFO. One sleeve to go, then I need a few buttons.  This fits, but I’m not sure it’s going to be flattering.  In the pattern mag, they showed it over a sundress, but I’m not sure I have anything that would match.  Hmm, we’ll see…
