WIP: Eastlake

I started Eastlake started last weekend after finishing up Indigo Ripples.  After working with the denim yarn, colrain feels like a dream.  I LOVE this yarn and I’m already plotting using it for other projects. The wheat stalk pattern really pops, and knitting is fun.  The pattern has many errors/inconsistencies, but nothing too difficult to figure out.  The sweater front is now pretty much complete, and this picture is a bit outdated, but you can still see the pretty pattern!

I’ve read in numerous sources that this yarn grows a ton after blocking, so I knit and wet blocked 2 swatches.  I virtually never do this!  What I found is that Colrain grew only a bit, (5.5 to 5.25 spi on US 6, 5.0 to 4.75 on US 7, row gauge remained at 7 rows/inch.  Though the pattern gauge is 5.0 spi, I decided to go with the size 7 needles, and end up with a bit of positive ease.
