I’m working on the Gathered Pullover from Interweave, with Knitpicks Telemark in the most beautiful pale shade of lavendar/blue/pink, Delphinium Heather. Unfortunately, this color is discontinued and hopefully I have enough yarn. There was a debate on ravelry recently about whether Telemark is truly a sportweight yarn. Admittedly, I didn’t swatch this with size 3 or 4 needles, but it looks great and is not particularly loose or drapey knit at 5 spi on US 6, so I imagine it would be quite dense and stiff knit at a smaller gauge. I did a ton of math on this… trying to obtain a size between the two smallest, for zero ease. I want a sweater that will stay on my shoulders and conceal the straps of anything I might wear underneath; also I want the vneck a bit higher. Stitch and row gauge are off.
So far this seems to be a quick knit, exactly what I need after setting aside another project, a Xmas gift knit. Though I like to do the monogamous thing, I can’t with the Xmas gift, as I might die of boredom. In any case, it is now about 50% done. The recipient requested a grey sweater, so here is a pic of a piece of it… sorry for the boring photo, but I didn’t want to include any identifying details.
I have two FOs, both super cute wool sweaters that need modeled shots. Oh well, perhaps this weekend the weather will finally cooperate. Ages ago, I also finished my oldest UFO, the Ruched Cardi. That was one of my goals for 2008, but it probably won’t see the light of day until Spring 09.
