I knitted a lot in 2008, which I attribute to both blogging and ravelry.  I knitted more than these 12 projects last year, but these are all special for at least one of the following reasons: lovely yarn, exquisite design, perfect fit, high wearability.

My all around favorite FO?  Probably Riding to Avalon.  I absolutely love the light, warm yet breathable fabric created by the silky wool.  It’s also very durable and looks new despite lots of wearing.  The style is appropriate for almost anything.

Most fun to knit?  Hmm, maybe the drawstring camisole.  A interesting lace pattern and a relatively small amount of fast stockinette, this was engaging and beautiful.

Best (new to me) yarn?  Valley Yarns deserves the prize.  Northampton is my new go-to worsted wool, it’s warm, soft, and snuggly.  Wearing my deerfield sweater is like being wrapped in a cloud.  Colrain is silky with wonderful drape and sheen.  I also loved goshen and sheffield; I’m looking forward to trying the others.

Aside from my knitting, I finished four cross stitch projects and did some sewing.  All in all, a very productive year!
