Well, I am taking guilt-free January to a new level and starting whatever I please. I begun the Fern Glade beret, from Knitty, in Classic Elite Wool Bamboo. That’s taking a backseat for a bit, while I begun Wisteria from Twist Collective.
I have about a billion sweaters from Twist queued, so I was very excited to start this one, and the pattern does not disappoint. I’ve just finished with the cabled yoke and I’m moving onto the raglan increases. The yarn is Knitpicks Wool of the Andes, Kettle Dyed Ivy. I absolutely love the way it’s knitting up. The semisolid colorway provides lots of depth without obscuring the cable pattern. Plus, the greens… it reminds of a dark, mysterious forest. A walk through the woods, silent except for the sound of my footsteps….
I’m planning to start at least two new cross stitch projects, Athena by Mirabilia and Rose Fairy by DMC, adapted from Cicely Mary Barker’s work. And maybe something else if it strikes my fancy. I also want to finish more cross stitch, I have two projects close to finishing. Notwithstanding guilt free January, my goal for 2009 is finishing, in general. I want to clear out my WIPs and UFOs, as much as possible.
