Here’s my new WIP, Rebecca from Winter 08 Twist Collective. I started
this a few days after finishing Wisteria, on Feb 15th or so. At first I wasn’t crazy about the yarn, Fibranatura Baby Merino. The ball band gauge is 5.25-6 spi, and my pattern gauge is 5.5 spi, but I think I would like the yarn better at 6 spi. It’s almost too soft… I’m not too crazy about superwash and I’m concerned about durability. But the yarn has grown on me and I’m continuing with it. I love the color, a deep lilac.
I’m enjoying the cable pattern, and the way the central motif creates a lot of visual interest, but not too much weight. It’s not exactly a fast knit, but I’m hoping to finish this along with the 1st quarter knitalong with the SKC on ravelry, the theme of which is “cables” and the deadline is March 17th. I can make it I think if I set aside Athena (my cross stitch project) for a bit.
