Lizette front
This pattern, which got the cover photo for Twist’s summer issue, immediately caught my eye, but some of the early FO’s on Ravelry, as well as the pattern schematics, made me question whether it would flatter me.

Lizette side
The pattern is fine, no errata.  I love the “princess seam” shaping, pretty cable/lace details, brilliant yet simple hem treatments (to let it roll when the roll is limited to just a few stockinette stitches), the empire waist formed by applied I-cord, and short rows to get a shirtail hem plus a nicely shaped waist seam.  However, a close examination of the pattern made me think this pattern was designed for the flat- or small-chested, and I made extensive modifcations for fit, which are detailed in my last post

Lizette back
The yarn, Rowan Cashcotton DK has been in my stash since March 2009 and I’m very happy to finally use it (though it’s now discontinued).  It’s a blend of practically everything: 35% cotton, 25% nylon, 18% angora, 13% rayon, 9% cashmere.  The “knitting feel” is predominantly cotton-like, but the fabric has a slight halo, plus drape, and softness, and a bit of warmth/coziness.  I really love the color, a clear, light sky blue.  I fretted a bit about running short on yarn, but thankfully the sleeves didn’t require much.  I have a bag of Cashcotton fingering weight in my stash; it is allocated for the Apres Surf hoodie which I wouldn’t undertake lightly, being knit on size 3’s, but someday!

Lizette three quarter
I’m quite pleased with this FO, I love the soft, comfy fabric, and feminine details, plus the stashbusting was a great bonus!

This turned out amazing! Don’t you love it when it all comes together? You did a great job detailing the mods you made, too.
