New WIP: Angostura

Here’s another project designed by Ysolda for the SKC KAL… Angostura vest, which was a bit more palatable than a long sleeve wool sweater to cast on in the summer heat.  This pattern is really clever, I love how the shaping is done via the cable panels.  Before starting, I did a little math and measuring to see if the cables, as designed, would actually sit on my natural waist (thinnest part).  Thankfully, they do, so no modifications are necessary.  After my last project, that is quite a relief!  I’m not saying that all the modications to Lizette weren’t worth it, because they were.  It’s highly satisfying to take a design you love, but know won’t look right on your body type, and tweak it to fit.

I’d like to work through some more stash for the KAL.  In terms of accessories, I could do the Snapdragon Tam and/or Flip Top Mittens (Cascade Dolce), Verity hat (Tahki Savoy), Peaks Island Hood (Berroco Palace), or Scroll Lace Scarf (Malabrigo Silky Merino) by Ysolda.  I’ve already knit up the Champlain hat by Cecily but I may need to redo it since I’m not sure about the fit.  I also like her Gwynedd hat (Classic Elite Fresco).  The sweater possibilities include well, most of Ysolda’s “Little Red in the City”.  Laika in some really old Knitpicks Gloss fingering stashed in 2006 I believe. Lauriel (Knitpicks Wota sport), Skelf(Stonehenge Fiber Shepherd’s wool), or Coraline (Elann Woodland Cashmere), which was published individually a few years ago.  As for Cecily, I really want to knit up the Auburn top (Knit One Crochet Too Camelino) .  I’m thinking that will be a september project.  Below is a mosaic of the pattern/yarn possibilities.  Yarn photos are mine and the pattern photos belong to the respective designer and/or publication.
