Gwynedd front
Well, I realized that time was getting away from me in the third quarter KAL, both for SKC and the Stashdown group.  I figured this would be a quick project and it didn’t disappoint.

The pattern is fine, no errata.  It’s easy though I found the wording for the set up rows a bit confusing.  I had to frog some but I was back on track soon enough.   I didn’t bother to swatch since used the original yarn, and the hat came out just perfect, with a pleasant slouch for my rather small head.  I love the bow and the lace pattern, simple yet cute.

Gwynedd back
The yarn is one I’ve used before, last Christmas when I knit the lace ribbon scarf for my mom.  Fresco is a light sportweight wool/alpaca/angora with a good twist, not at all splitty, cloud soft, drapey with a light halo from the angora. It feels like heaven to knit and after blocking, blooms into a wonderfully soft, lofty fabric (though I haven’t blocked the hat yet).  The color “Fair Green” provides a nice punch, and I managed to eke the hat out of one skein (with virtually zero leftovers).  I have two more skeins in my stash and I’d like to use them for a coordinating scarf.

Gwynedd three quarter
I’m really happy to have a Fresco project in my winter accessory stash, and I love the whimsical style of this hat.  Even better, I have a sweater quantity of Fresco (in a different color) and a pattern for it!
