So, it’s been a while since I updated this blog…. Buying a house is stressful.  Moving is a timesuck.  Becoming a landlord is a pain.  Yardwork and gardening are perpetual tasks.  Enough excuses?  Since last time (May update), I only really worked on my cross stitch project, Twas the Night.  I took a picture around early-mid May when I pulled it out, but sadly it’s gone as I had to replace my phone and lost some data.  More with the excuses!  I’ll just tell you, it was probably around 30% complete and not very exciting.  And now… I am happy dancing!

It’s an old Dimensions kit on 14 count cream Aida.  The finished design is about 11″ x 17″ and I plan to mat, frame and hang it on the wall as a Christmas decoration.  I love the upside-down writing on Santa’s letter, and the cute pensive expression on his face.  The verse is from Clement Clark Moore’s 1822 poem.  The poem formed the text of a Christmas book that I enjoyed many years ago as a small child.  This project was begun in 2002 and is my first cross stitch finish since 2009, so I’m very happy!  Plus, now I’ve worked on 7 of 10 WIPocalypse projects, and 2 are finished.  Not bad for mid-year.

If I wanted to keep cycling through all my WIPocalypse goal projects, next up would be Royal Holiday.  But since life events basically absorbed a month of my crafting time, and in light of the finish, I’m going to give myself a break and go back to one of my previous projects with higher likelihood of finishing.  Plus, I plan to work on two of the knitting WIPs during the Ravellenic Games later this month.
