The full moon is few days past and well, I missed the last few updates. I haven’t been crafting as much (World of Warcraft has occupied many hours, and I just haven’t felt like blogging), but I did some work on Royal Holiday (no pic today, sorry) and without further adieu…
Here it is, my triumpth, my HD:
- Pattern: Dimensions #8486 “Christmas Ingredients Tree Skirt”
- Materials: 11 count Aida with floss as kitted
- Size: Stitched area is about 40″ in diameter
- Time to stitch: 9 years… egads!

This project is huge, the backstitching took forever and as you can probably tell based on the time to stitch, it was a “long term” project. So, I got some nice fabrics to finish it off as I can’t imagine half of the tree skirt being plain (unstitched) Aida. I want to do it justice. I plan to applique the stitched area to a red velvet, line it with kona cotton, and trim the outer edge with a gold fringe. Hopefully, the sewing can be completed this weekend. I really like the sentimets… Grace…Giving… Family…Wishes… Sweets… Friends… Memories… Warmth.

The gingerbread men are some of the cutest details in my opinion. Stitching on 11 count fabric felt so big and unweidly, but I suppose it’s appropriate for the scale… this isn’t meant to viewed close up. Want to hear something crazy? I’m contemplating doing another… Dimensions Gold “Here Comes Santa” or JCA’s “Chrstimas Pageant”
