VoyageatSeaHD2-2-13
This was one of my 2013 WIPocalypse goals (No. 5).  Here is what it looked like prior to picking it up again around January 28th.
Voyageatsea1-22-13I started it in early October, 2012, because I wanted a small project that I could take along on my commute, etc.  I even got a cute 6-inch diameter hoop.  The central picture stitched up quite quickly, since it is small, though some of it got rather stiff, working with 3 threads at times.  I put it aside after finishing the center bit, because the detailing is extensive and requires 2 charts; I wasn’t feeling it.  So, pondering what I should do for the February WIPocalypse, I picked up this project because it seemed I might finish.  I worked the old map outer border, and all the backstitching, french knots, cording, etc.  It wasn’t that bad- a few evenings of work, really.  That knot of cording at the bottom was pretty fiddly however- took maybe 30 minutes to get right.

If this kit is indicative, the Dimensions Petite Collection is really a lot of bang for a buck.  Nice result for a small pricetag and limited time commitment.  I picked up another small kit, Beacon at Daybreak, as a companion piece, though I haven’t started it yet.  Eventually, I would like to hang these in a guest bath.  And so, the to-be-framed pile grows.  My UFO count is now at 7.  I’ll probably start something new soon, but what?   I am leaning towards a Mirabilia, since I finished Athena and only Royal Holiday remains in the rotation.  Maybe Emerald Mermaid, Titania, Petal Fairy, Feather Fairy, or Fairy Roses.  I will probably let my husband decide.
