This past month was not the most productive crafting-wise.  I spent about 2 weeks overseas.  I love to travel light, so I brought one bag (carry on).  Yes, this means I have to do laundry.  I prefer spending a few hours on laundry vs constantly lugging around tons of stuff.  I packed a small cross stitch project, but didn’t touch it.  I did, however, knit.  I casted on for the Apres Surf hoodie, one that I’ve long coveted. Progress is slow- it’s fingering weight yarn knit on US 3 needles.  The back piece is mostly done; I keep telling myself the back is the largest piece and the rest should be easy.  Right?  It would be great to finish this by the end of June, for the current SKC KAL, the theme of which is “lace”.

In the time outside of my trip, one WIPocalypse project saw action, the Rose Fairy.  Before:

So the cross stitch is mostly done, all that remains is finishing the border.  Then there is a ton of backstitch.  Fabric color is more accurate in the photo above.

I love, love this one.  It’s pretty and delicate stitched over 2 on 36 count linen, and all the shading is quite special.  I hope to finish her this year, one more rotation should do it.

Both of the pieces are beautiful, especially the fairy. I always find the sleeves the hardest. Mainly because by then the back & front are made and I get bored, and they are just long and widening (so slowing down with time). My current jumper has been in the making for almost a year now (or rather I have almost finished the sleeves back in September and it has been waiting for me to be picked up). Good luck for next month!
