I am happy dancing for real! I’m thrilled to have this finished, she is so lovely and delicate stitched over 2 on 36 count (18 count) with plenty of fractionals. From the last time, everything was done except for the border and the backstitching. Well, there is a ton of backstitching on this one. Mostly it is with 1 strand of a medium grey thread, so the effect is subtle. However, I think it does make a difference. I skipped the background since I was using this lovely hand-dyed mottled grey fabric. I just love all the colors in this piece, so many shades of green and pink. I like the border too- it makes framing her a bit easier.

The chart is part of a series by DMC published in England in 1996-7 (chart numbers beginning “PC”). I have managed to collect quite a few of them, they are really exquisitely detailed charts without being huge- they fit nicely on a fat eighth of 36 count. You can find them on Ebay sometimes, particularly UK Ebay. I would like to stitch several of them eventually. Here is a selection of some of my faves (Candytuft, Willow, Canterbury Bell, Elderberry, White Blindweed, Wild Cherry, Chicory, Sweet Pea, and Shirley Poppy). I especially like Willow (top row middle), Elderberry (middle row left), and Shirley Poppy (bottom row right).
