As part of my 2013 framing extravaganza, here are 3 more.

First up is Mermaids of the Deep Blue.  In my opinion, the fabric is so pretty, it didn’t need a mat.  Also, the project is plenty large on its own.  Sorry for the angle (I forgot to photograph pre-glass).  This one hangs on the wall in my master bath.  I’d love to eventually have a gallery of mermaids in there. I went back and forth over glass, but eventually decided to use it.  Humidity isn’t much of a concern, as it’s a large room with an exhaust fan.  

The wood frame has a dark brown metallic finish with carvings that remind me of ocean waves and anchors.

For Twas the Night, I decided a double mat was appropriate to bring all the colors together.  Also the fabric is white aida and I preferred to leave as little of that exposed, as possible.  The bottom mat is metallic gold and the top mat is cranberry red.  

 The wood frame has a black finish with inner dot and outer scroll detail.  I’ll probably display this in the living room or maybe den during Christmas season.

Royal Holiday got a similar treatment as the Mermaids- this project is so big, and the fabric is so pretty, I didn’t see any reason to mat it.  I chose a warm gold frame with a brushed finish over raised relief detail, scrollwork and foliage that seems appropriately festive and regal.

I’ll hang Royal Holiday in a prominent place in my living room, Celtic Spring’s usual spot.  Still to be framed are my four Joan Elliott Seasonal Fairies, the Rose Fairy by Cicely Mary Barker, and several small projects.  I already have framing materials for two of the smalls, and I’ll get on that soon, hopefully.
