Here is a new start, my 2015 Christmas project: Joan Elliott’s Christmas Angel. I’m stitching her on 32 count Winter Skye opalescent lugana by Silkweaver (old). I want more Christmas cross stitch for my house. There is already a lot of cross stitch on the walls. My end goal would be to switch out a significant number of those pieces for the holidays. My Floss toss:

I only intended to stitch around 25% of the chart, but I didn’t want to stop at that point. The colors in this piece really enamor me. This is an aspect of Joan Elliot designs that I really appreciate- she creates rich shading without using a zillion colors.
So, she is around 50% complete. What’s left would be the upper body, wings, head, etc. Finishing this year is a possibility, as I got to this point in about 1 month of stitching time (some evenings). This fabric is much prettier in real life. Next time I’ll try my actual camera (not iphone) and natural light.
