So, sorry I missed February.  I had other things on my mind at the time- husband was out of town for work and I was home alone with bebe.  I don’t know how single parents do it.  In January, I did some knitting- I made a hat, worked on Apres Surf and Baudelaire.  Pics later, I hope.

Lizzie Kate Christmas by the Letter was goal no. 1.  Before:

Now:

It’s just about finished.  Still needs embellishments.  Happy dancing soon I hope!

I also made a few new starts (goal no. 7), Joan Elliott’s Christmas angel and Dragon Dreams’ Fairy Tale Sampler for my son Oliver. JE-XmasAngelWIP 2-28-15

I hope to finish the Fairy Tale Sampler soon; it’s a quick stitch.

For next month, I hope to get back to the knitting.  Apres Surf would be wonderful spring sweater.  I also want to make another hat, as the hat I made in January is really cute but doesn’t look right with my new coat.  I also want to sew Olliie’s Easter outfit.

Edit: the Question of the Month: If Time and Money Didn’t Count, what would you stitch?  Well, Merlin and Arthur and many other full size charts by Heaven and Earth Designs- these aren’t particularly expensive, but the time involved in making a gazillion little x’s…. I’m just not patient enough.   (The stitch count on these charts is huge!).  I actually started Merlin and Arthur back in 2006 or therabouts.  First I tried stitching 2 over 1 on 25 count fabric as HAED advises, which was a nightmare.  Just too much thread IMO.  So I started again, 2 over 1 on 20 ct Aida, and stitched the first page (the top left corner) which is a lot of brown for the most part.  Maybe I’ll get back to it one day.

As for money, some of the Riolis kits have caught my eye, particularly the ones of European architecture.  My travels through Europe remain some of my fondest memories and I  would love to stitch some of the gorgeous places I visited.  Like the Charles Bridge in Prague.  This kit is pricy though.

Also, Thea Gouverneur, her city charts are spectacular.  I particularly like Rome, which is an amazing place to visit and in some ways I feel Italy provides a lot of “bang for the buck” among European destinations.  Again, this kit is pricy.
