I’m happy dancing!  I had no idea this project would work up so quickly.

This was my first time stitching on Jobelan.  The pattern is charted for 28 count fabric and I wanted to use that as there are several specialty stitches that involve stitching over 1.  My stash doesn’t have much 28 count, so I had to order something.  I couldn’t find the specified fabric (Amaretto Jubilee) but I tried to find something similar.  The antique copper hand dye is extremely subtle and the color is less warm than I expected, but it works.  I really enjoyed stitching on the jobelan, it has a nice hand and is easy to count.

The pattern was easy to read and has good instructions for all the speciality stitches.  See box, herringbone, and arrowhead stitches abve.  The specialty stitches were really fun, partially because they’re done in Caron Waterlilies, which I love working with.  Below you can see Rice, Large Tied Cross, and Scotch stitch.

I’m hoping to frame this soon for Oliver’s room.  Whether the frame will be gold or wood toned is yet to be determined.
