My first finished sweater project since 2013!
This pattern was long on my wish list and I got a bag of the yarn at Stitches East back when they were holding it in Baltmore, MD (a long time ago!). I thought it would be perfect plane and travel knitting for a transatlantic trip in 2013. I finished a large portion of the sweater while traveling, but I got pregnant soon after my return home and the project languished; I had no desire to knit for expanding prego self (and knitting aggravated my pregnancy-induced carpel tunnel). The pattern is well written with nice details, but it did get tedious after a while, any sweater on size 3 needles would, I suppose. I modified the hood (slightly shorter and more short rows) and grafted it together at the top. I actually wear hoods and like them to be smooth on the inside.

The yarn is wonderful, soft and cushy for a cotton blend (Cotton/Nylon/Angora/Cashmere), easy to knit by touch alone and behaves nicely for lace. The fabric has a slight halo and soft drape with a bit of coziness and warmth. The entire RYC cashcotton line was discontinued six years ago, unfortunately. The color is a light mint green, which just happens to be popular color this year. I’m really happy to have this in my wardrobe.

The body size was perfect, slight positive ease when I cast on. I have in fact lost all the baby weight (and then some), but my bust is a few inches bigger- thanks to nursing. High bust is the same so the fit is decent, I suppose. I didn’t add short rows to this because of the allover lace pattern; it’s pretty stretchy anyway. I expect this to fit a little better after I’m done nursing; now it rides up a bit in the front.
