Well, this past month I mostly stitched and knitted. My knitting project, the Iris lace cardigan, was blocked, buttons sewn, etc, but I haven’t taken any modeled photos yet. Soon, I hope! I also pulled another old project out of storage, the Ruched Yoke Tee. The I-cord neck edging is in progress. The pattern says to knit a bit more Icord, then graft the end to the beginning, but I think it’s ready to graft now. I don’t want the neck to gape.

I like stitching Christmas stuff in the summer. First, I worked on Celtic Christmas. Previous progress (from 2013):

Now, the bottom half is mostly finished. The top half doesn’t have as much stitching, or so I tell myself. Finishing this project will be a high priority next year (2016).

Then, I worked on Joan Elliott’s Christmas Angel. Previous progress (from March):

Now, she’s around 75% complete. The skin and hair remain to be stitched (and backstiching and beading, of course).

The plan is to keep her on the scroll bars until I finish the right wing and the top of her dress- but I will work on her again before long. The goal is to finish this project by Thanksgiving and frame her along with another seasonal project for Christmas.
Question of the month: Do you prefer to stitch reality or fantasy / figures or abstract? Well, fantasy and figures, for the most part. That’s what captures my imagination. I do enjoy stitching some scenery type designs, but they tend to be bigger projects (Dimensions Gold, etc) and I don’t really have the patience for huge projects at the moment. A good chunk of my patience goes to parenting my sweet (and very energetic) toddler son- he’s a handful!
For the next lunar cyle, I will work on the Christmas Angel and maybe pull out Petal Fairy as well- that project is my closest to being finished and a happy dance would be nice. Knitting (summer projects to be finished / photographed) and sewing (I have some fabric stashed that I want to sew into garments to go with my knits) are also priorities.
