This past month, I worked on Joan Elliott’s Christmas Angel. Last time:

Now:

All the regular DMC cross stitching is complete. After ordering the metallic threads, I took a break, but put in a few evenings of effort once they arrived. Most of the metallic cross stitches are complete and I got a start on the backstitching. This pattern has a ton of backstitching in general. To avoid burnout, I’m retiring her for now. I’ll bring her out in a month or two, there is plenty of time to finish her before Thanksgiving (I want to frame her for Christmas).
Petal Fairy also got a turn on the scroll bars. Last time:

Now:

She’s almost done. The backstitching is complete; it’s minimal, as typical in Mirabilia patterns. The beading is in progress; she has plenty of beads though she’s not as blingy as other MIra patterns I’ve done. Expect a HD post soon!
Question of the month? What makes you pick up long-abandoned UFO rather than beginning a new piece? Simple- I like to finish things. My collection of WIP/UFO’s number in the single digits, and that works for me. Having a zillion unfinished projects around makes me feel like my hobby is out of control.
For next month, I plan to start a new project once Petal is finished, something for Halloween. And I’d like to make some progress on the Mask of Colors QS; I’ve met most of my stitching goals for the 2015 WIPocalpyse, except that one.
