My fourth Mirabilia finish and I love her!

I thought she would be pretty on pink and I chose this opalescent lugana from my ancient Silkweaver fabric-of-the-month stash. The fabric is beautiful, subtly mottled pink and sparkly, but it wasn’t my favorite to stitch on. It’s densely woven and I have easier time counting the threads on linen or jobelan.

The pattern was fine. There is a bit of errata, which is noted on Mirabilia’s site. In a few places, the colors didn’t seem to align correctly with the backstitch, so I made changes. I added some fractional stitches to the skin for smoother lines. The kreinik was sort of invisible against my fabric, so I added a bit of backstitch along the top of her wings.

She has plenty of bling, but not as much as other Mirabilia patterns I’ve done.

My framing plans are TBD, but I probably won’t use a mat. The project is quite big already. I’ll probably hang her in my sewing room, since as noted in the pattern, she is a fairy seamstress, contemplating her next dress from the petals of the poppy. I like to have two Mirabilia’s in my rotation, so soon I’ll start another- it will be a mermaid. But nothing in my fabric stash is quite right for either of the two patterns I have in mind- Mediterranean Mermaid and Siren & Shipwreck.
