I ran out of Mill Hill 2001 beads while beading Petal Fairy, so I picked up more at a local shop (The Needlewoman East in Falls Church, VA), also a pack of MH 3012 which I need for my Christmas Angel.   They have a great selection of Mirabilia patterns.  I couldn’t resist “Siren and the Shipwreck”…. I’m trying to create a mermaid gallery in my master bathroom and this is one of a few mermaid patterns on my wishlist.  So I spent $18 including tax.  

Then I went to Michaels’ and got some DMC, some of which I needed for my new project (discussed below), and for other planned projects; total spent was $6.51.

So, as for my earnings, I finished Petal Fairy.  At the beginning of 2015, I estimated it was 45% complete.  Now, I’m considering 60% to be completed this year including beading and backstitch.  Per chat with Mel, the finish value is $25 and I am claiming 60% of that, or $15.

The other stitching from stash I’ve been doing is a new start, Toil & Trouble by Erica Michaels.  I’m using a fat eighth of “Shadowbrook” belfast from my very old Silkweaver stash. The pattern (also long stashed) is charted for Weeks Dye Works, but DMC alternates are provided.  I pulled all the DMC, but as I started stitching, I realized that I will need at least some of the variegated threads to create the same effect as a model.  

My over dyed thread stash is small; I looked to see if could find some substitutes, but no luck.  I’m not going to run out and buy the WDW, however.  This project can stew for a while, as I already have another Halloween project in my to-be-framed pile.  And stew it will, since I’ve completed all the cross stitch I can without having the WDW.

Next month, I’m hoping to find some fabric for Mediterranean Mermaid.  The pattern and bead pack are stashed and I’m dying to start her but none of the fabrics in my stash are quite right.
