It’s (almost) a new year and I love it!  Though normally I try to keep a handle on my WIP/UFO count, I consider January to allow guilt-free starts.  Some people go really crazy and start new projects every day.  I stitch mostly large projects so my version will be a little more restrained.  I will start 4 projects, one per week.

First up is Mirabilia’s Siren & Shipwreck- 4th project for the mermaid gallery in my master bath!  Here’s my floss toss on “Seaglass” belfast linen from Hand Dyed Fabrics by Stephanie.  This is one of the first pieces I’ve purchased from her but it is only the first of many I’m sure!  Her fabrics are really lovely.

Second, The 12 Days of Christmas by Joan Elliott.  I picked up this kit for a song on Ebay so I did not hesitate to swap the 14 count white Aida for Fabric Flair 32 count evenweave in white w/silver sparkle.  The sparkle is very subtle.  I will try to complete one block per month or so, to finish this year.

Third, “Love with a Capital L” by Papillon Creations, that’s Gloriana silk on 25 count vintage smoky white lugana.  I need a third silk, more variegated for the Capital L, but this is enough to start with.  This is a large pattern and I will stitch 1 over 1, and add some personalization to the bottom, as a wedding sampler.  We’ve only been married ten years, it’s about time!

Last but not least, Air Goddess by Joan Elliott.  Here’s my floss toss on “Aerial” belfast linen by Picture this Plus.  I’d like to stitch all four of her elemental goddesses and DH suggested I tackle them alphabetically (Air, Earth, Fire, Water).  We’ll see how many I get to this year, maybe just one, but that would be a fine beginning.

I have lots of other starts planned for 2016 in general; I’ll mention those soon, when I post re: the 2016 WIPocalyse.
