2016 is half over. My little guy is almost 2.5. Where does the time go? Before I get all maudlin, let’s get to stitching. Anyway, quite a few projects received attention during the last lunar cycle.
I worked on Maiden & Unicorn for 5 days. Previous progress:

Currently:

I finished the bottom border, extended the dark blue a little bit on the border’s left side, and finished the maiden’s skirt. There were a lot of color changes, with some of the shades being very close. My goal for the year is to finish the bottom half of the chart, so I will need to come back to it, stitch the rest of the unicorn and that left border up to the midpoint. If I manage to accomplish that, I should be able to finish next year. There’s less stitching on the top half, plus I’ve also stitched the maiden’s chest, the unicorn’s head, etc.
After that, I worked on my Mask of Colors QS. About two days later, I happy danced!

For the rest of June, I worked on my Summer Bellpull. Previous progress:

Currently:

I did accomplish a fair bit during the week. The U block was a challenge, lots of white on white. When the M block is complete, the project will be half done.
The first week in July, I worked on my 12 Days of Christmas, progress is blogged here. I planned to work on Dancer the second week. I traveled part of the week, lost my stitchy mojo, but picked him up again a few days later and finished him quickly.

Then I worked a few days on my Mill Hill Angelina ornament. Previous progress (2 days) from May:

Now, the cross stitching is finished; she is ready for back stitch and beads. When I stitched Gabrielle last year, I detested the perforated paper. For Angelina, I affixed some velcro to the top and bottom edge and found a scroll frame with side bars the same height as the paper. You can’t roll perforated paper, but you can certainly mount it. 2 handed stitching makes all the difference; I’m really enjoying Angelina.
My original goal was to spent a week on this project and finish it. But, time was short and I wasn’t inclined to push for a finish so soon after Dancer. I do plan to finish her this year and only another day or two should be required.
Then I realized the 3rd weekend of the month had slipped by without notice. So I spent 2 days working Love with a Capital L.

I finished page 11, and did a bit of page 12, excluding the bottom border. I’m at the bottom of the original chart. Now I need to chart my personalization (new section).
Question of the month: If you are participating in the Olympic Challenge, tell us about your plans – which type of challenge you’ve selected, the pieces you’ll be stitching on, etc.
I accept the rotation challenge, concurrently with the Stitch Maynia Summer Olympic Challenge on Facebook. Every day is a different theme, and I will attempt to work on everything I have, excluding UFOs. My WIP count is currently 9. My focus pieces include Siren & Shipwreck, Earth Goddess, Celtic Autumn, and Summer Bellpull. I am planning to finish Siren and start another reindeer, Donner, during the challenge.
