Time for starts 14,15,16.  Here’s the last for the Year of Starts, for which I decided to do 16 new starts in 2016. Start #14 is secret gift stitching, but I can share the other 2. 

Floss toss: Mirabilila’s Aphrodite on Zeus’ Domain 32 belfast, Under the Sea Fabrics (Start #15)

She received 5 days attention on my scroll bars.  I started with the black and stitched most of her tail.  Most of the empty space remaining in the area will be Kreinik.  I do have the bead packs and specialty fibers on order. 

I really love her so far.  She may receive more work this year; in any case I hope to have her finished by next April.

Start #16!  Floss toss: Nora Corbett’s Gigi on Nyx 32 jobelan, Under the Sea Fabrics

3 days on on the scroll bars, this is about 1/4 of the chart.

I might have made more progress, but I had a hard time stitching on this fabric.  I couldn’t get good tension on my scroll frame (I had this on 26″ bars since the I’m using the fabric horizontally; Ana will go on the other half).  So, the stitching was really dense and the needle wouldn’t go through the fabric easily at times.  I really do prefer belfast for 32 count, I suppose.  In any case, I ordered an 11″ x 17″ qsnap (my first!) to work this project.

It was fun, but I’m done with the serial starting stuff.  It’s just not for me.  I prefer to finish what I start, in a timely fashion.  So, starting October 1, I will be participating in the Year of WIPs challenge with the Soulful Stitching Sisters FB group.  My plans are explained in my video, but basically my focus will be on WIPs and starts will be limited (ie, may start after finishing something), although I am planning 4 starts for Crazy January.
