The 2016 WIPocalypse is winding down, just a month plus change to meet goals and finish projects.  I have rearranged my plans, hoping to notch a few more finishes before year end.

At the beginning of the lunar cycle, I worked on Love with a Capital L, 4 days effort.

I finally stitched the first page!  I also finished the rose band pattern and worked on the borders at the bottom.  Then I discovered the names, etc. were not centered properly.  Frogging 1/1 on 25 count is painful, that’s all I’m saying.  And then I felt the fabric was “dirty” from so much handling/frogging and any leftover fibers.  So I spot cleaned the bottom section.  I stitched and frogged some more, charted some of my own elements….

I also spent about 5 days with Gigi.

I made good progress!  The blonde hair is my conversion- going for a Fleur Delacour kind of look.  Most of the stitching is complete.  I need to stitch her hat, the straw on her broomstitck, backstitch and beading of course.

After that it was time for the Stitch Maynia Election SAL, a daily rotation challenge, which lasted two weeks until Nov 8.  I also attended a stitching retreat at the end of October.  I worked on almost everything…. I’ll share a few pieces where I feel good progress was made.

After the Election SAL, I shifted into high gear on Love with a Capital L.  And I finished

Question of the Month: What pattern (or designer) is on your must-try-to-stitch bucket list?

Passione Ricamo.  She has lovely, detailed large charts with fantastical subjects, my fave.  I own a few and they are partially kitted.  Specifically, Selene (Moon Goddess) on a dark blue/purple hand dyed fabric (“Phantom” by Picture this Plus) is ready to go and I hope to start her next year.  Many of the Passione Ricamo charts are available for purchase in pdf form from her website, which I appreciate.  I wish more designers did that.

Selene-modelMy plans for the next lunar cycle are rather ambitious.  I plan to work on Maiden and Unicorn, finish the bottom half at least.  In the rest of the November, I want to work more on Celtic Autumn- my new goal is to finish her by mid December.  I may also work on Aphrodite.  As December starts, I’ll work on The Spirit of Christmas- I made good progress on him during the Election SAL and I think I might be able to finish this year.

Great work this month. I love the giant L on its own! Gigi is looking good too.
I’ve never stitched a Passione Ricamo lady although I have stitched one of her freebie Fairy Silhoettes.

Oh wow! Capital L looks amazing – and you finished it for your anniversary! Stunning reminder of your special day. I saw on your video how hard the names were for you to get right but in the end it has been worth all the pain you went through with them :o)
Love Gigi and her blonde hair!
    Hugs xx
