My third Celtic lady is finished!
I love Autumn, her colors are glorious (credit to Littlecat for the conversion, and Janet Granger for publishing it on her blog. The original pattern is done in purple and gold, which doesn’t really say autumn to me. This was pretty much a joy to stitch, though next time I won’t leave all the metallic thread to the end. Those swirls in the dress are time consuming! I used Kreink #4 braid color 002 since I didn’t have the right color of Petite Treasure braid handy.

The leaves trailing from her hand were charted by Crystal and also available from Janet. I had a hard time reading the hand-drawn chart so I used the general shapes and free handed it. The leaves are done over 1 and I had some difficulty seeing my stitches when I stitched at night. I do think it’s a very special touch though.

The fabric is printed by Zweigart with a hand dyed effect, a mottled light mocha. It’s 28 count, which I feel works best for the celtic ladies with the copious beading in the border; the beads fit nicely on the fabric. The fabric is nice and soft, easy to stitch on. I always recommend Zweigart Cashel to people looking to transition from Aida cloth.

So, the two ladies that remain are Winter and Summer, Winter will be next and it will be a blue/silver conversion with the cape as charted by Nathalie. I saw the most gorgeous conversion online, credit to JOT, though I can’t find the details anywhere so I guess I’ll have to pick my own colors. I think I need a little break though since I finished two Celtic ladies in 2016! Overall, Celtic Autumn is my 16th finish of the year and my active WIP count is now down to 7. Hopefully it will be 5 by Dec 31!
