February was a good stitchy month considering it was a short one!

I started with Earth Goddess, at the end of January.  I worked on her 4 days, then 4 more days later.  Previously:

Earth Goddess WIP 1-22-17
I finished the cross stitching, backstitching, French knots, and beaded the bottom half before I ran out of the white beads, which were leftovers in stash.   Now:

Earth Goddess WIP 2-25-17The first week in February, I spent 5 days on Aphrodite.  Previously:

Aphrodite wip 11-30-16I completed the shell area including a few shades of pale pink and purple Kreinik.  I also stitched more blue Kreinik on her tail. Finally, I started her skin, just two colors so far.  Now:

Aphrodite WIP 2-7-17My next focus project was the snowman stocking, which received 5 days on the scroll bars.  Previously:

Snowman stocking WIP 12-31-16I stitched the snowman’s head, mitten, lots of background and several elements that needed attention below.  Now:

Snowman Stocking WIP 2-14-17Titania got a bit of effort, just 2 days for weekly challenges.  Previously:

  Titania WIP 1-10-17

I worked on the bustle of her skirt and started the purple ribbon.  Now:

Titania WIP 2-10-17I spent 2 days on my Christmas village WIP, blogged here.

Another 2 days were spent starting Winnie the Pooh II.  Then I frogged it all.  It’s not a WIPocalyse project, but some info is blogged here

Then I started Fire Goddess and spent 3 days on her, blogged here.

Fire Goddess WIP 2-25-17

Finally, on the 25th, I started another Christmas ornament, to be blogged soon.

Question of the Month: What is your favorite stitch other than the standard cross stitch? Probably backstitch.  Sure, I complain when there is a lot of it (ahem, Earth Goddess) but I love the way it adds detail and depth (visual dimension) to the piece.  I believe I will always be partial to charts with backstitching; it adds a special touch.

In the last few days of February, I will attempt to finish and fully finish a few things, and perhaps restart Winnie the Pooh if the mood strikes.  For March, my focus pieces will include Maiden and the Unicorn, Summer Bellpull, Titania, and King Arthur’s Court.  I am excited to work on King Arthur again!

I love the mermaid. I think about doing one, but so far haven’t, well other than the two alphabet letters I’m working on D and A. D is done, A is not. Your snowman stocking is great too. Congrats on your progress.

Love your Fire Goddess but my favorite color is orange – I know I am going to love watching your progress on this one. Your Stocking looks as if you you are on the home stretch. I am excited for you to work on King Arthur too, it’s an awesome project

You’ve done so much for a short month! Love Earth Goddess. Aphrodite looks very tribal the way you’ve started stitching her skin!
