For Stitch Maynia, my plan was to make 5 new starts and work on 10 WIPs over May 1-15. Here are my first 3 starts.

May 1, I started Cookies for Santa by Sue Hillis, and worked on it 2 days. I opted for the “traditional” colorway, which is actually not the one model-stitched. The fabric is 28 ct white monoco by Charles Craft.
I reached the midline of the chart though the top half isn’t complete yet. it needs more holly needles, a blended floss (cream/tan), and some white. A significant portion is backstitch with just a few cross stitches throughout; that stitches up quickly. I’m feeling good about finishing the project this year and I plan to work on it again in July.
May 3 I started Bright and Beautiful by Lesley Teare and worked on 3 days. The fabric is 32 count antique white belfast by Zweigart.
This is part of a series of seasonal birds; I started with the spring blue tit. I stitched mainly the bottom left quadrant. While this is a small project, it’s not exactly a quick stitch. There are many color changes and fractional stitches. Even the border has about 7 greens! I do find it a lot of fun to work on, though, the colors are enchanting. I don’t know when I’ll work on this again, not sure how it will fit into my rotation. In any case, it will definitely be a finishing goal for 2018, if not sooner.
On May 6, I started Seraphina by Mill Hill and worked on her 2 days. She is stitched on the perforated paper that came with the kit.
She stitched up quickly! All the regular cross stitching is done except for her skin- face, chest, hands, feet. That is done with 3 different colors. And then all the beading, which is extensive and will probably take as long as the regular cross stitching, if not longer. I plan to work her again in July and perhaps I’ll be able to finish.
The first week of Maynia was a success! I also worked on 4 WIPs and vlogged all the stitchy progress. Now for the second half- Week 2!
