Presenting my third Mill Hill finish (of 12) for this huge village project…
Bookseller stitches up quickly, I was able to get the cross & back stitching finished within 3 days, as part of a weekend stitch-athon. At that point, the colors weren’t really to my taste. The beading took another 2 days and jazzed it up significantly. The pattern is fine, lots of long rows and columns for the most part. There are 8 colors of beads on this! There are some cute details… I love how the black cat is stalking under the bird feeder. There’s another little animal, a squirrel or something, but it’s barely discernible, even after backstitching.
The materials are fine; I like how Mill Hill is kitted with DMC floss. A few of the beads were cut irregularly, but with such dense beading throughout, it’s barely noticeable. I really like how the wreaths in the windows turned out, very festive. And I adore the nod to Victorian architecture with the tower window & turret.

I also worked on the snowflake border; that border is a thread hog (done in Kreinik #4 braid color 032). I’m trying to get ahead on the border. Next quarter I’ll work on the final building of the top row and stitch more border and/or grid to prep for the second row in 2018.

The 3 buildings together are fab! I love how this project is coming together.
