Here is my start of Mill Hill Apothecary, 3 days effort.

Apothecary WIP 10-24-17

This is the 4th piece on my village and instead of completing the first row of 4, I gridded down and started the second row.  This is due to my false start of Mill Hill Through the Woods (horse drawn sleigh) for the last slot of the first row.  I started it, working next to Bookseller, and realized the horse as charted would come up past the second story of the Bookseller.  The scale was all wrong.  I took a glance at my other “people” blocks and realized that any / all of the people blocks might look odd next to a building.  I wanted to add the people to my village for interest, but if the scales are divergent, it’s not going to work.  So I had to revise my plans.  It will involve more shopping… I decided to remove the people blocks and add the Needlework Store, the Post Office, and the City Bank.  The Needlework store will go on the first row next to Bookseller, and I don’t have it yet, so I opted to start the second row instead.

Looks great, I’ll be happy to see the entire village together when you get it done. Although its such a shame that you have to buy more patterns to make it happen 😉

I love your idea of the whole cloth village. In fact, I started getting kits to do the same thing. And I also purchased the kit, Through The Woods. When I read this I thought , “Oh, Nooooo!”
Do you think that one row of the “people” blocks would work? That way, they aren’t right next to a building…..
I have been purchasing kits as I find the money, so don’t have them all yet. Did you buy all yours at once?

Too bad about the scale of the people, good idea to just sub in different houses. The piece is very beautiful on that fabric.

I like Suzy’s idea of adding one row of people, maybe the last row so it looks like they are in the foreground?
I have the Queen Anne house, if I stitch it myself, I could send you the chart to fill a gap?

It’s a shame the people don’t fit in wih the buildings, but then it’s also understandable if they were never intended to be stitched like this…I’m sure your new plan for the village will work out, though!
