Presenting my 4th and final building of 2017!

Apothecary HD-full

The kit includes perforated paper, but I’m using fabric, obviously.  The snowflake border in Kreinik #4 braid, color 032, is my addition.  Apothecary stitched up pretty quickly with a lot of yellow.  The beading added a rainbow of color and a lot more visual interest.  The kit is fine; it includes a well done pattern, DMC floss, and a generous quantity of beads.  The missing stitch between the upstairs windows is where the wreath button will go, eventually.

Apothecary HD-sign detail

My favorite detail is the Rx sign, which I altered a bit since as charted in one thread it was barely visible.  I also love the green bench and festive trees.

Apothecary HD-door detailThe entrance is very inviting. The poles are perfect for an apothecary as the red represents blood/wounds and the white represents bandages/healing.  Here’s a better look at the fabric: the 28 ct stormy grey jobelan has a wonderful hand and beautiful mottling.

So I stitched 4 buildings in 2017, and 57% of the border, which took 28 days in all (and ~5 spools of Kreinik).  The plan was to finish the first row but I had to revise things a little so I started row 2 instead.  Row 2 is gridded across the bottom; I’m ready to start another 3 buildings on that row.   I love the village so far.  And all the planning math I did, to make it work with the border, etc, was worth it; the spacing looks good, to my eye. I look forward to adding more buildings in 2018.

Congratulations on the Happy Dance for another shop! The layout is really good, very balanced, you can see they work well together.
The red/white poles are found in England outside Barber’s Shops as they were often surgeons as well as barbers!
