The dog days of August started with a rotation on Water Goddess.  Previous progress:

My 5 day rotation was enough time to finish the kreinik on the bottom half and start the backstitching.

Water Goddess 8-10-18

She’s very sparkly, between the moon, accents on the dress, and long rows for the watery background.   I might have gotten more progresss, but time was split with diamond painting.

Fall Fairy got 4 days. Previous progress:

I finished page 3 and got a small start on page 4 with some of the parked threads. Most of the remaininder is full cross, I think, but it’s just the one remaining page (and a ton of backstitch).  Hopefully I can finish this year, it’s my oldest WIP.

Then it was time for spooky rotation, dark 13 stitching, etc.  It took 2.5 days to finish the “Fright” line on Boo club and after stitching the little haunted house, I didn’t feel like spending any time on large WIP, Spooky House.  So I skipped it.  Boo Club is 2/3 done now, that feels good.

Enchanted Mermaid got my longest rotation, and amazingly, 6 days was enough time to finish .

I spent one day on the Needlework Shop which was enough time to finish up the cross stitch, do the backstitch, and start the beading.  I got through the petite white and green velvet beads, which I had in stash.  A friend gave me her pattern after she finished with it, so I don’t have all the beads on hand.

1 day was enough to finish the August mandala from the Brodeuse Bressane SAL.  I think it stitched up really cute with the butterflies and stars.

After that I started working on Winnie the Pooh for Stitchathon weekend, but that’s still in progress, so pics next time.

Discussion topic: Which is more satisfying to you and why – the process of stitching a piece, or the finish?  I derive the greatest satisfaction from finishing the last 25% piece, generally.  I feel like I’m on the downhill slope and have a lot of motivation to finish.

I’m not sure what I will do with the last week of August.  Maybe I’ll work on Spooky House since I skipped it a few weeks ago.   My rotation was a bit weird this month, and I wound up with 5 “bonus” days.   As for September, my plans involve Fall Fairy, We Do Disney, and Trick or Treat Fairy.   I think I’m ready for summer to be over, are you?

To me, the process of stitching a piece is more satisfying.
