2019 was a good stitchy year, I’m hoping 2020 is even better! This year I managed to wrap up a few multi-year projects, like Spooky House, the Mill Hill Christmas Village, and Winnie the Pooh; that felt fantastic. Big finish goals for 2020 include Fantasy Triptych, Twilight Bridge, Save the Stitches, and Spring Bellpull.
I really liked having the 8 WIPs, with possible ornament extras, with loose categories. So let’s go by categories. WIP photos are mine, pattern photos belong to respective designers.
No. 1 is Mirabilia / Lavendar & Lace. My current WIP is Prancer by Nora Corbett which I’m planning to finish after Christmas (if i can find the necessary beads & kreink at my LNS). So in January, I may do a new start. It might be another reindeer, like Cupid. Or maybe Mirabilia Cathedral Woods Goddess. Or Santa of the Forest (by Marilyn Leavitt-Imblum).
No. 2 is Joan Elliott, and I’m currently working on Fairy of the Rainbow. There’s quite a way to go on her, but there’s a Fairy Tale SAL starting in January, after a long search I finally found a good fabric for Rapunzel, and I really want to start her, so I may double up in this category.

No. 3 is Fall/Halloweeen, I’m currently working on Batty Belinda by Brooke’s Books, but I just ordered all the kreinik and plan to finish her in the near term. Harvest Witch by Stoney Creek will be my project for the old stash / new start SAL in my group, Stitch from Stash. Seriously, Harvest Witch is the first line on my spreadsheet tab for charts. She isn’t huge, and I hope there will be time to start another Halloween piece next year. Halloween Memories by Sue Hillis is on the smaller side and just perfect for my little one.

No. 4 is Christmas / Winter, I’m currently working on Gingerbread Grove by Glendon Place. I’m not sure when I’ll finish it, since I’m waiting on backordered Kreinik, but I’m definitely planning to start Winter bellpull by Stoney Creek next year. Also, it’s been a while since I stitched an angel and Joan Elliott’s Christmas Blue Angel is high on my list. I have a gorgeous piece of oplaescent “Hamlet” by Under the sea fabrics to stitch her on- dark grey and purple, I think she will pop and it will simulate starry night sky.

No. 5 History & Literature, I’m currently working on Fantasy Triptych by Teresa Wentzler. It’s got a long way to go, but I might start another Harry Potter piece because I do love that series. One piece that is definitely on my radar is Cleo by Nora Corbett, I plan to stitch her as Hermione. It will require some customization and re-design, but I look forward to the challenge.

No. 6 is Flora & Fauna, which is currently doubled with Spring Bellpull by Stoney Creek and Twilight Bridge by Dimensions Gold. Twilight Bridge being full coverage, is a special case, but I am planning to finish it next year, as well it’s over halfway complete after 7 months. A likely new start is Spring Fairy by Dimensions Gold, art by Ruth Sanderson, a continuation of the series I started with Woodland Enchantress and Fall Fairy.

No. 7 is Samplers, and I’m working on Save the Stitches by Elizabeth Almond. It’s almost half done, after 25 days this year, so it’s definitely a finish goal for next year. Another piece I have stashed is Halloween Quaker by Lila’s Studio.

No. 8 is Wild Card, so it would be anything, I’m currently working working on We Do Harry Potter by StitchArea (Etsy). That will definitely will a focus piece for finishing in December. One piece I’d really like to start in 2020 is Ireland Mandala by Chateleine.
Please come visit again a few days for my 2019 WIPocalypse wrap up…. and shortly after that, a 2019 finish parade with a little chit chat, and pie, of course. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, hope your days are full of light and happiness.
