Hello, my name is Stephanie and I’ve been anticipating the end of the world for several years now!  It works for me, I prefer “serial finishing”.  I’m a longtime stitcher, started before I can remember, and my preferred genres include fantasy, nature, buildings, ladies; iI also love stitching for Halloween & Christmas. I adore color, sparkles, and fine details.  I prefer my stitching to look as good close up as it does 5 feet away.

Goal #1.  We Do Harry Potter by Stitcharea (Etsy).  This piece really should have been finished last year, but it wasn’t the quick stitch I expected, and I’ve found it necessary to tweak the chart in several places.  There are several motifs that still “need” to be “fixed” with quarter stitches or backstitching, we’ll see.  With 2 lines of text and a few motifs left, I’m hoping to finish this month.

Goal #2 Toys Ornie by Better Homes & Garden, Cross Stitch Christmas, Needlework Treasures.  It’s almost done, just needs backstitching, personalization, and full finishing, of course.  I want to finish this is a circular flat ornie, as shown in the model.

Goal #3. Batty Belinda by Brookes Books.  I’d like to full finish this as well, which may be a little difficult since it calls for several Memory thread colors which aren’t available anymore, but I have a few idea such as wrapping floss and/or metallics around jewerly wire.

Goal #4.  Spring Bellpull by Stoney Creek.  The last two panels need to be finished, and backstitched.  The chart is pretty fiddly with tons of color changes, but I’m hoping to finish in April.  It was a birthday start and could be a birthday finish!

IMG_3425Goal #5. Gingerbread Grove by Glendon Place.  The whole piece needs to be filled in with various colors of Kreinik (which I’ve been unable to obtain) as well as beads.  I’d love to finish and start a new Christmas piece in July.IMG_3426Goal #6. Rainbow Fairy by Joan Elliott.  The bottom half is mostly finished, except for fill in with accent colors and where I ran out of DMC.  The top half is not quite so extensive.  She’s probably my favorite WIP.

IMG_3427Goal 7. Rapunzel by Joan Elliott.  I’ve wanted to stitch this for YEARS and I want to start her ASAP as part of the Fairy Tale challenge with Semisane Stitchers; the idea is to finish in 6 months. We’ll see…

Goal 8. Harvest Witch by Stoney Creek, my 2020 Old Stash New Start, maybe towards the end of January (I want to finish We Do Harry Potter first)

Goal 9. Save the Stitches by Elizabeth Almond, parts 13-24.  Part 13 hs a baby start. Really 12 goals but where’s the fun in that?

Goal 10. Fantasy Triptych by Teresa Wentzler.  This was my 2019 Old Stash New Start, and the chart is no joke.  But I did stitch about half last year and hopefully I can do the rest this year.

Goal 11. Twilight Bridge by Dimensions Gold. This was my 2019 Maynia start.  My lofty goal is to do 20,000 stitches, hopefully that would be enough to finish (the full stitch count is 49,896 and a considerable amount of that is tent stitch)

IMG_3430Goal 12. Skeleton Polish by Hands on Designs.  Part 2 of 9 in the Scary Apothecary series.  It’s essentially a (large) ornament and shouldn’t take too long to finish.  Also a new start when the time is right (whenever that may be)

Goal 13 Cathedral Woods Goddess by Mirabila.  It’s high time to stitch another full size Mira.  I might start this in January.

14.  Comet by Nora Corbett.  Continuing on the Reindeer series, this would be #6.  Prancer is just about finished, only need some Wisper thread for the tail, and to sew on the treasures (stashed, I think).  It would be great to stitch Cupid and Vixen, too, but they will probably need to wait.

Goals 15-20. Framing is a big goal for me this year.  I have a huge pile of finishes, more than ever before.  I also have a large stash of frames (including ones for all below). I will need to buy matboard in certain cases and We Do Disney will be quite a project since I want to do a black glitter matboard.  If I get these 6 pieces framed this year, I will be thrilled!

20 goals seems sufficient for 2020, I think.  I also have some sewing projects on deck.  Happy stitching friends!

Great goals. You really do have some fabulous projects. I love the Cathedral Woods Goddess, I think Yany is stitching it on some beautiful fabric.
I really pared Belinda down, missing off most of the additions because I didn’t have the threads either.
