Presenting my 6th reindeer!

Comet HD

The pattern is small and extremely blingy, just like all the reindeer.  The backstitching was pretty minimal, except for the border, which was simple if tedious.  The beading is extensive, with Magnifica beads in 4 colors, but it’s quite easy, mostly adjacent to the DMC stitches.   I quite like how the border is beaded in the simple repeating pattern all around.  My modification is the reindeer’s name, at the bottom; I think it’s a nice touch.

The materials are the same as all the other reindeer.  The Pewter opalescent Belfast is beautiful, perhaps a little lighter than the model fabric, but it works.  The gold Kreinik #4 braid (color 28) is used for the saddle, both by itself and blended with DMC, which was a little awkward.  The tail is done in Wisper- 2 short little lengths for 38 stitches.  I ran into a little roadbump when I exhausted my supply of one of the beads.  You can do multiple reindeer with 1 box of beads, but not 6, I suppose.  As for the treasures, I used Mill Hilll large round beads in Amethyst and Swarovski bicones for the Large Rondeles in Siam.

My favorite details are the tree on his back, the gift boxes, and the sparkly saddle.  Comet is one strong reindeer!

Next up will be Cupid, which I’ll be starting soon because my WIP count is getting entirely too low and I want December to be a full stitchy month!

Comet is wonderful, I also love the tree and the gifts as well as the beautiful red ribbon.
I saw someone in a Facebook group who’d completed them all and mounted them on the wall. It looked fantastic.

He’s got some serious bling! Well done. And yes, it does look like you’re WIP count needs some bumping!
