Well, the second quarter of the year is upon us and how am I doing on my WIPocalype goals?  March wasn’t the greatest month.  I did knock out my large goals, but faltered in the last week.  March Madness fell by the wayside.  Apparently I just wasn’t excited to continue the daily rotation with the Fandom Stitchers challenge.  But I did rack up tons of stitches before I burned out, so I consider it a win overall.

Alice SAL, was a WIPGo hit for March.  I gave it 1.5 days and 920 stitches.  I managed to finish my self-designed queen of hearts, the border, and even started beading.  I could have finished if I hadn’t slacked off.  Oh well, it’s an April finish goal.  Alice WIP 3-31-23
Fata dell’ Aurora continues to be my Semisane (FB group) “Focus on a finish piece”.  This month, she got 4 days love and 3,251 stitches.  I was frustrated by not having all the necessary materials.  So now it’s 2 different shops, in different states, different years, where I have ordered the petite treasure braid and both were unable to provide certain colors in a timely fashion.  Meanwhile, 123 has them in stock.  I like to spread the wealth, patronize different stores, but situations like this leave me disenchanted.  So I got them from 123 stitch, with lightning fast shipping, and worked extensively with the hi luster silver and black hills gold ptb.

Easter Bunny House, by Tiny Modernist, came out to play on March 1.  The goal was “only” 800 stitches, but when I realized how close I was to the end, I pushed on for 1,102 (including 900 backstitch counted for half), and finished it!

Santa’s Workshop was not a focus or anything, but I did give him 501 stitches over a partial day, mostly for the Daily 30 yearly challenge.  I worked on the boots & table, and cleaned up a lot of parked threads.

Bellatrix was loved for about 2.5 days and 2,004 stitches.  I worked across to the lower right corner and started stitching towards the center again.  I worked mainly on the candle, the border, the vine, the window frame, and a decent start on the black cat.

Renaissance Mermaid enjoyed Mirabilia March, with 3 days attention and 2,066 stitches.  I worked all on the tail, moving into the fin at the base.  It would have been nice to stitch more & finish the tail, but I ran out of steam as mentioned above.

Scary Apothecary had just one partial day, half of March 2, 545 stitches and I finished Skeleton Polish!  Now I really need to get Snail Slime and Spider Legs on the go (my last 2 in the series of 12).

Christmas Angels is another, that while not a focus, got some lovely attention, 1 day and 900 stitches, for the Daily 30 yearly challenge.  I’m finally getting somewhere on the red dress!

Last by not least, my lovely little ornies. Oh Deer Gingerbread (new start), Silver Blue Christmas, St. George’s Gift, Iris Faberge Egg, Waiting for Christmas,  and and Irish at Heart (new start), all together had about 5 days and a whopping 3,614 stitches.

Question of the month: Tell us about your favorite place to buy stitching supplies.  Online, definitely 123 stitch.  Seriously, I ordered late Friday night, a few weeks ago and the package was on my porch just a few days later, including the weekend, Monday afternoon.  Brick & mortar, Needleworker’s Delight in Metuchen, New Jersey.  It’s quite large, the staff is helpful and friendly and they stock a wonderful variety of new, old, dozens of fabrics, tons of fibers, and many uncommon stitchy accoutrements.  I guarantee you, walk into the store and you will find at least thing that you love and must purchase!  Also, I had a really nice visit to the Needlecraft Corner in Parkville, MD (north of Baltimore) not too long ago, the owner Drema is the absolute sweetest, she has the most darling window displays and indoor decor, plus trunk shows, models galore, tons of charts, fibers, etc.  On that day, she had dozens of hand dyed fabric FQs on sale, too.  And I found a lovely Petite Croix by Lucie chart that I had never seen before!

Now for my April goals:

•Fata dell’ Aurora, Alice, Irish at Heart, Oh Deer Gingerbread & Waiting for Christmas, finish all

•Focus rotations on Autumn Bellpull, Minecraft, Christmas Angels, Bellatrix, Santa’s Workshop, & Renaissance Mermaid (2 k each), & Iris Faberge (1 k)

•Lil’ Christmas Angel by Sweet Annet / JCS Ornaments 2022 (JCS SAL wildcard, Start and finish)

Happy Stitching

Well done on meeting most of your goals! The Alice sampler is coming along nicely now, I just need a frame for mine.
It’s nice to have bricks and mortar shops to visit.

I, too, got burnt out on the March Madness rotation – daily switching of projects just isn’t for me! But you got so much more done than me before you did. Loved seeing the progress on everything!

So many wonderful projects. Congrats on finishing the Easter Bunny House, it looks absolutely adorable! And Alice will finished before you know it. That’s one I was going to stitch, but never seemed to get around to it.
