Hello again friends, this entry covers two months since I lost my stitchy bug after the first week of April.  Thankfully it came back for Maynia!  This post will cover only my WIPocalypse pieces and other pieces will be shared in a future post.

My oldest WIP Alice, had a couple hours in April and that killed my stitchy bug (kidding, sort of).  Then I pulled her out May 8 and finished her with 198 stitches or the equivalent of beads, backstitching, and couple french knots. (Happy dance post)

The next oldest, Fata dell’ Aurora got 7 days attention since March, 4,112 stitches total.  She was my focus finish piece for the solo- Maynia challenge in one of my groups.  I did finish her May 19.  Solo-maynia, though, what a joke!  I worked on every single one of my wips in May and started a few besides… anyway I digress.  More details in forthcoming FO post.

Next, Santa’s Workshop was loved for 2 days in April and 1 in May, 1,655 stitches total.  It’s progressing slowly from the bottom right corner.  At least the top half has more negative space.  The border section is a WIPGO hit for June.  So I will attempt to finish the border, exclusive of beading.  2 sides are almost finished, and the other 2 are at least started.

Bellatrix had 1.5 days & 1,680 stitches.  I really enjoy stitching on her, all the dark colors are soothing perhaps.  The cat worked up really cute, though it needs more stitches added for detail.  I also stitched her leg peaking out of the dress, more dress, border, window frame, and a bit on the shawl.   BellatrixWIP5-31-23
Renaissance Mermaid was loved 4.5 days and 3,318 stitches, mostly on her tail (and tail fin), though I did fill in a lot of her upper body and some hair.  She was my focus for BAPpening with Semisane Stitchers (FB).

As for the Scary Apothecary, I took a break in April, but I started Spider Legs and gave it a partial day, started and did 800 stitches in May.  11th of 12 in the series!

Christmas Angels had a little more than 1 day attention and 940 stitches added. The project (Right side only) was a bingo hit for May.  I continued on the right side angel, stitching more of the red dress, also started her hair and wings.  While the right side isn’t complete, it’s close.

Last but not least, my lovely little ornies, I even got several finished!  So, in April I finished both Irish at Heart by Shannon Christine, and Oh Deer Gingerbread by Ardith Design / JCS 2022 in one day with 737, and 78 stitches (or beads), respectively.  In May, I finished Waiting for Christmas by Lisa Leann / JCS 2021, Silver Blue Christmas by Artmishska / JCS 2020, and Iris Faberge Egg by Solaria Gallery.  I also made a new start (and finish), Snowy Greetings by Living on the Rainbow /JCS 2022 for the JCS SAL.  All in all, my May effort was a total of 6 days and 4,868 stitches.OrnieFinishCollage5-31-23

As for continuing ornie WIPs, I gave some love to Crazy Quilted Halloween, Santa’s on his Way, St. George’s Gift, Night Peony, and Gingerbread House by Alexandra (Etsy PatternsBySAStitch), which was an April start.  Together, they had about 4 days effort and 2,634 stitches.

OrnieWIPCollage 5-31-23Question(s) of the month(s):

April: Give us 5 projects in your stash that you’d love to start and haven’t yet: Chatelaine Irish Mandala, Nimue Guinevere, Mirabilia Fairy Idyll, Joan Elliott  Fairy Wind or Celtic Wheel, Les Petites Croix by Lucie En Route pour Noel.  I simply don’t have the room in my rotation / mental bandwidth for any of these quite yet, though all are at least partially kitted.

May: Which project brings you the most joy and why?  I must say Mirabilia Renaissance Mermaid, she’s just so beautiful and working extensively with the Waterlilies is no chore (Waterlilies are my favorite silk).  And the fabric I chose for her, Willow Wisp by Hand dyed by Steph, is just right.  I think I will be able to finish her soon-ish!

June Goals:

•Focus rotations (at least 2k each): Renaissance Mermaid, Minecraft Sampler, Santa’s Workshop, Autumn Bellpull

•Finish goal: Night Peony Tee

•Start and stitch at least 1k: Shannon Christine Hello Summer, Hands on Designs Snail Slime, Jolly Snowman (JCS SAL Wildcard)

•Small finish goals: Spider Legs, St. George’s Gift, Crazy Quilt Halloween
