Hello, ladies and gents! It’s been a long time. Last year had a lot of ups and downs. My stitchy bug was anemic after the first half of the year. A long hiatus from social media was taken. In the end, I picked up my needles in the evening of December 25, and started rocking some serious progress, and participating with FB groups such as Daily 30 and Semisane Stitchers. As 2025 begins, I have a few finishes and some stats to share.
First, finishes! I achieved 3 medium sized finishes. When Black Cats Prowl by Maria Diaz is stitched on Ale Crystal Cashel (opalescent) from Picture this Plus. This year’s effort was 7,619 st over 5 days. See earlier post for details.

Winter Bird by Lesley Teare on white Belfast was started and finished, with 12 days love and 8,400 st. This is my second in the seasonal bird series and I’d like to continue with the series depending on how things play out in 2025. These charts are really special with tons of detail, wonderful depth, and gorgeous colors.

Easter Parade by Brittercup Designs was started and finished with 3,681 stitches over 4 days. I think this design is terribly cute and I dug deep in stash for both pattern and fabric. I have a lot of Christmas and Halloween designs finished, but not many for other holidays. I’d like to stitch more for Easter, Valentine’s, Independence Day, and Thanksgiving.

Aside from those projects, I got a lot of progress into my BAPs, some more than others, but I will share those soon when I post for the 2025 WIPocalypse. I did finish several ornaments in 2024. In the first quarter, clockwise from top left, Christmas Kitty by Kreinik received 2 days attention and 1,844 stitches. Polar Night Sighting by Stitch Sprout had 4 days effort and 2,567 stitches. Bewitchin’ Stitchin’ by Cindy Lash required 1 day this year and 812 stitches. Little Christmas Angel by Sweet Annet had 2 days love and 1,821 stitches. Decorating the Tree by Judith Kringle took 2 days and 1,575 stitches. All these charts were from Just Cross Magazine special holiday issues.
In addition, I finished 2 full coverage pieces after Christmas. Aloha Banana is a little bigger than an ornament, I think it would make a cute easel finish. Anyway, Gingerbread Row by Laurel Susan Studio / Just Cross Stitch had 5 days love and 8,606 stitches. Aloha Banana by Jenny Barton / World of Cross Stitching had 7 days attention and 4,440 stitches.
Overall in 2024, I did 117,311 stitches over 128 days, an average of 916 stitches per day. The daily number is pleasing, but I stitched only 1 day in July, 2 in August, none in September, October, November, and 7 days in December. It would have been ideal to stitch more, obviously. But that’s life. And the good thing about stitching, it keeps. Organization made it possible to dive back into my WIPs after Christmas with ease. Here’s hoping 2025 is a better year, stitching and otherwise.
