I’m pleased to share my huge finish, one of my older WIPs too. I had only planned to do 15k stitches on it this year, but as I finished other wips, it moved into the focus category and I blew past that initial goal, ultimately racking up 32,108 stitches in 2025 and finished on December 2!

The materials, all as charted, were fine, though rather pricy. I enjoyed working with the Petite Silk Lame thread, it’s smooth and gives a subtle sparkle. Is is worth it though? I think DMC plus blending filament would give a similar effect. The buttons, by Just Another Button Company, are highly detailed and really fun. The fabric is dark blue with the light bleach splatter, but not that dark, I had no problem seeing it clearly.

My favorite aspects of the chart include the beautiful blue waves, the whimsical face in the moon, the windswept flag and tattered sails, also the gorgeous dragon masthead.

Also in general, the charting is fantastically done, giving a 3 dimensional appearance in the end. One thing to note about this chart, is there is a ton of backstitching. I worked on it periodically all during the project, as advised in the chart notes.

This is not my first Glendon Place piece, nor will it be the last! I think I’l start Ghool School in January, and hopefully Sir Thomas later next year.
