First, I’ll share my oldest WIP no more, Mickey Stained Glass by Neni Designs. It required 44 days from January 2024 to April 5, 2026, with a total of 31,290 stitches, on 18 count grey aida. The size is 8.3″ x 11.7″. There is no backstitching (apart from my initials), but the confetti was insane in parts. I stitched it as a commemoration of our “Disney era”- many trips to the mouse house when my kiddo was between the ages of 3-11. These days, we prefer Universal Studios, or Disneyland in California.

Fairy Clouds by Joan Elliott was my last of the atmospheric series (Rainbow, Rain, Wind, Clouds), on 32 count Supernatural Jobelan by BeStitchMe. The fabric was a joy to stitch on, soft and easy. I think the white/ blue is a good background for this scene in the sky. She required 26 stitchy days over 1 year, since July 2025. She’s sizable, 10.5″ x 14″.

I think Ms. Eliott designs the prettiest faces. As for materials, aside from DMC, 3 Kreiniks (Vatican, Heliodor, Periwinkle), also 3 beads (Soft Willow, Champagne Ice, and Champagne petite)

Her dress is pretty special too, so many lovely colors and beautiful spring colors. There is extensive backstitching on the dress, mostly with the metallics.

Outlander Sampler by Ars Orinika is stitched on 28 count Ivory Jobelan, I opted for 28 count due to the small backstitched text. It took 13 stitchy days over a year, since May 2025. The size is 10.75″ x 15.35″. It was a pretty easy stitch and I love the books, though I lost interest in the TV show over time.

It’s all DMC and plenty of 310, black. I adore the busts of Claire and Jamie, and the interlocked wedding rings. I made a few mistakes, but the spacing allowed me to fudge it.

Ghool School by Glendon Place was finished in August, after 20 stitchy days this year. I found the perfect fabric in my stash, Eerie 28 count Lugana by Under the Sea Fabrics. The size is 11.25″ x 12.25″. I really don’t love stitching on lugana, but this fabric was a gift and the color was ideal. As for materials, it was lot of DMC, Lemon Lime Waterliles silk for the moon, and the highly detailed, hand painted button pack (of 12) from JABCO. There is no alternate chart provided, the buttons are necessary and rather pricy.

I really like the witch flying across the moon, and the personified tree.

Last by not least, I finished Chaffinch in Summer by Lesley Teare on August 30th, after 12 stitchy days this summer. It’s not very large, 7″ x 9″, on 32 count white Belfast linen, though it is very detailed. There are fractional stitches aplenty and lots of backstitching. Tent stitch is used for a soft watercolor effect around the edges of the circle.

What I really love about this are bright fibrant colors. the fauna includes pink briar roses, red poppies, white daisies, and blueberries. The blue butterfly is really pretty and my hubby pointed out it could be a nice tribute to Ms. Dolly Parton, may she rest in peace.
