Well, I guess I didn’t have enough of Ysolda during the KAL, because I cast on this sweater September 30th. I had this idea that it could be my Rhinebeck sweater and fortunately it knit up quickly. The body and sleeves up to the underarms were completed in less than a week, and the yoke only took a few days more. The edging is tedious (though quite pretty) and I’m pacing myself. The idea is to finish by Tuesday, block by Wednesday and it should be dry for my flight Friday morning. I plan to buy buttons at Webs Friday afternoon, sew them on that evening in the motel room, and wear to the festival on Saturday!
I’m using Stonehenge Fiber Mill Shepherd’s wool that I bought at Fibre Space earlier this year (July 4th sale on American made yarns). This yarn is reasonably priced (retails around $11 for 250 yds) and it’s
a real treat… wonderfully soft, lovely heathered color (it comes in solids as well). It’s a light worsted weight in my opinion and I like it at 5.0, so I knit a few sizes up to compensate (the pattern is written for 4.5 spi).
