2016 was a great stitching year! I participated in the Year of Starts, discovered that serial starting is not for me, and I’m happiest when my WIP count is in the single digits. I joined Facebook, found Flosstube, started my own channel, got enabled and enhanced my stash so much I felt it necessary to resurrect Stitch from Stash as a FB group. I also tried a more formal rotation, both time and goal-based, and found it both enjoyable and productive.
Finishes of WIPs that I carried over from previous years include Celtic Christmas, Midsummer Night Fairy, Blitzen, & Mask of Colors QS.

Finishes of 2016 new starts include Happy Minion, The Graduate, Air Goddess, Dancer, Siren & Shipwreck, Love to Nurse/Teach/Coffee, Angelina, Donner, Love with a Capital L, Train Ornament, Gigi, Celtic Autumn, The Spirit of Christmas, and 12 Days of Christmas.

It was a good stitchy year! So, 18 finishes- of which 7 are large, 5 are medium, and 6 small. 5 of them were fully finished, mostly framed, though I did a flat fold for the Happy Minion and a pillow ornament for the little train. I’m hoping to do lots of framing in 2017, as I have some framing materials stashed and I hope to buy some more custom frames, etc with my savings from Stitch from Stash. I have recently purchased a glass cutter and pliers and successfully used them to cut glass for a project. It’s cheap to buy standard glass sheets at Home Depot (about $7 for 18 x 24). Mark it with a sharpie and straightedge, pop it under the Logan and score it using the guide rail for a straight cut. Snap it apart with a gentle squeeze of the pliers. It’s nothing fancy (not UV glass, nor museum glass either) but I’ve always used standard glass (or plexiglass) on my pieces anyway.
I do have several WIPs that I will carry forward into 2017- check out my forthcoming WIPocalypse post for the details!
