My 2nd finish from Maynia 2017!

The pattern is well done and stitches up quickly with a lot of typography.  I pulled floss for both color schemes and decided on the  more traditional Christmas colors.  The verse is done mainly in backstitch, with cross stitches here and there for emphasis.  My favorite motif is the little gingerbread boy, I think he is so cute. The holly branches came out great too.  I wanted to stitch this pattern because my son is 3 and we are making the most of Santa while he still believes!

I opted for 28 count because I wanted it to be the same size as as the model.  The Charles Craft monoco is one of the best options you can get at the big box craft store, if you like stitching on evenweave, IMO.    The pattern includes very detailed instructions for finishing as a flat fold, including measurements that apply for 14/28 count fabric.   I am looking forward to shopping for some coordinating fabric.

Christmas in July got off to a great start! I am hoping to finish another 2 Christmas projects this month, and start 2 more (another building for my Christmas village, and an ornie).
